Following an impressionable club experience in Ibiza, Ginny K got the DJ bug back in 2003. With many gigs and a build up of studio productions to her name has only increased her love for dance music awarding her stints with the likes of luminaries such as DJ Yousef amongst others. Hear what she has to say and check out her mix on the RedSeaDance Sessions with Pete Farmer this Thursday 22nd on Push FM, from 4pm.
When she arrived back home, Ginny K bought a set of cheap belt-drive turntables, and was hooked.
After a while teaching herself the basics, Ginny enrolled on a DJ course at the Manchester MIDI School which gave her the confidence she needed to play in public.
Ginny started by playing in local bars, including a year long residency at Sphere Wine bar in Kendal.
She soon progressed onto playing in nightclubs, and also planned and promoted house night 'Aural Pleasure' with Gemma Furbank (which raised over £700 for Breast Cancer Care) in February 2009.
Ginny has played sets at the Orange Corner in Ibiza for two years running - returning to the Island that made her wanna get out there and DJ in the first place!
DJing highlights include; warming up for Yousef at a pre-Creamfields party in the Bench Store, Liverpool (August 09) and playing alongside acts such as Kissy Sell Out and the Scratch Perverts at 'Lancaster Loves...09'.
You can hear her weekly internet radio show "Tuesdays are..." on www.clublifeglobal.com, featuring some exclusive guest mixes and new releases from Axis Trax each week.
Ginny has started producing too, and has invested in an Apple Mac and Logic. Her tracks can be found at www.soundcloud.com/ginnyk. Her latest track "Veena" has been signed by Axis Trax and is due for an autumn release.
Ginny loves variety in her house music, but at the moment loves mostly; progressive vibes, tech-house tunes, and electro beats!
