Pete Farmer is a name that has been around for the past 15 odd years within the United Kingdom and Overseas Clubbing Industry. It all started 30 years ago at the age of 7 with his childhood neighbor playing Radio DJs on a old Amstrad Stacker with 2 microphones, recordable tape unit and built in Belt driven Turntable from his Father. Progressing at the age of 10 to gaining a 2track reel to reel with amp, Pete soon learnt the early stages of Pirate Radio, by holding in the `Talk button` on a `Walkie -Talkie` next to a speaker, whilst quickly running to his sisters room and moving the radio dial on FM until he got the signal and started broadcasting to his family home.
Jumping the decks at any given chance at his local Youth club from the age of 14, Pete then started mixing up Tapes for his mates, with the old style tape2tape Ghetto Blasters and levering the Record head up whilst recording in to mix. Chicago House was the sound that grabbed his thirst for music & the underground scene of Britain's Warehouse Parties. The 90`s Changed Pete's life forever as it was the time of the Musical Revolution in Britain with the `Rave` & `Acid` parties springing up everywhere. Pete's ability of diversity with music really stems from here, as his thirst grew stronger with all the new styles that hit the scene. `House, Rave, Jungle, Techno, Trance & Raga`
The late 90`s is where the jigsaw of his past came in place with his moving from the Midlands to the Party land of England `Essex`, where he joined thousands of other wannabe DJs in the race for residencies. After sheer determination Pete blagged his way into Residency at the`East Coast Rock Cafe` in Harwich with 2 CD Discmans and a Radioshack mixer. Without a pitch control, Pete's method was simply Pre-BMP tracks and hitting the `Play/Pause` button until they matched and he was mixing them in. With a loan of Peter Stringfellows old Citronic Beltdrives and blagging the industries Record Mailing Lists, Pete soon got the Vinyl fever.
His advantage over the other DJs was he could produce a pure upfront club promo set and enable his advance into the Club Industry. Getting his 1st set of Technics was the beginningof Pete's move from basic fade-in's to the Tight Mixing skills that we hear in his sets today.
`Rumors` Nightclub was his 1st major residency for `Luminar` alongside Garage Nations - `MG` in Clacton on Sea. Warming up the likes of `Brandon Block`, `Baby D`, `Garage Nation`, `Euphoria`, UK Uncovered, Sky TV Wet T-Shirt Parties, DJ `Force` & MTV / MOS `Richie Don`. Pete was soon Playing Clubs in Clacton, Colchester, Ipswich, Chelmsford, Cambridge, Kent & Surry.
On the flip of the coin, Pete could also be found warming up some of Essex's Bigger Club Promotions S.i.n & Lollypop with Pam's House `Pete Walden`. From Commercial - Underground & Pirate Radio, Pete's talents didn't stop there, Remixing, Bootlegging and Producing was the next step with airplay on The DMC Mix for Kiss Fm and BBC Radio1`s Driveby Bootleg show. If that wasn't enough he also got 45 seconds of his own production featured in the 2004 British Film `New Town Original`. After coming 3rd in a U.K. DJ Competition held by `Linerkers` Pete soon got his 1st major residency for London's Oldest Club Promotion `Carwash` which was launching in Egypt's `Sharm El Sheikh`
The past 5 years has seen Pete playing and promoting across Sharm, Dahab, Cairo and Hugurda. From MDM, Carwash, `Sintillate`at Pacha, Bus Stop, The Hard Rock Cafe, Club USSR, Mojo, Tavern Bar, Kamanga, Terrazzina Beach, Pangaea, Rush, Desert Parties, Liquid Lounge, Papas Beach, Calypso, Cairo Fuse, After Eight Playing alongside the likes of Timo Garcia, Dom Kane, DumbDan, MadMud, Antoine, Dmitry Filatov, Noya, Jay Stone, Sarah Giggle, Bubblefunk to name a few with his promotions RedSeaDance & Seduction33, has brought Pete's name to the forefront of the British Dance Scene in Sharm El Sheikh.
